WET FGD

Our installations include more than 150 WFGD systems in 22 countries and include units firing coal, oil, waste tires and heavy residuals containing up to 7% sulfur. By offering Open Spray Towers, MET installations experience greater reliability by minimizing pressure drop caused by scaling or plugging on internal surfaces. MET offers multiple technologies to remove SO2 from flue gas, including Limestone, Ammonium Sulfate, Lime, and Sodium Hydroxide. We also offer engineering studies and upgrades on existing units, no matter the OEM.

DRY FGD

The MET CDS-FGD technology employs the key design feature Multi-Stage Humidification which injects water separate of the reagent and at multiple levels in the absorber. This element not only promotes high system reliability but also boosts SO2 removal efficiency.

Determining to utilize Wet or Dry FGD technology is dependent upon a variety of factors. MET’s Dry CDS-FGD system offers the following advantages over conventional wet FGD technology:

  • lower capital cost
  • less water consumption
  • smaller footprint
  • less by-product disposal
  • operational stability
  • multi-pollutant removal
  • lower power consumption
  • separate control of reagent and water

SCR

MET is aligned with Termokimik Corporation (TKC), a leading Italian engineering and contracting company, to provide TKC’s proven Selective Catalytic reduction (SCR) technology and worldwide experience exclusively to the North American market. TKC’s demonstrated SCR technology, which has a solid installation base around the world, including 4,000 megawatts in the United States, reduces more than 90% of nitrogen oxides from flue gas emissions.
